Origin of the Organisation

Vimala Jyothi Development Centre is a non-profit voluntary organization (NGO) promoted by a groups of young people. Their life experiences with the realities of the deprived in the society brought into them the strong conviction to do something to improve their lifer situation. This deep conviction paved the way for founding the Centre on 8th September 2004. The centre targets poor families, small or marginal farmers, agriculture labourers, working group, people living with disabilities, couples, women and children living in difficult circumstances, aged and vulnerably diseased, adolescents & youth etc. Today the organization is taking the most essential steps which will go a long way to make a significant contribution to the life of deprived individuals, families and institutions in the society. The operational areas of the Centre include the various resource poor, neglected and marginalized communities in India.

Objectives

1) To support the students through career guidance, vocational training and financial assistance

2) To guide and support the family for overall development through family enrichment, financial support and related activities

3) To develop the human resources of the community by developing the intellectual and psychic calibre of the people.

4) To establish and administer any sort of training centres vocational establishment, rehabilitation centres, counselling centres etc.

5) To accept gifts, donations, subscriptions grant or fees in any manner from any person, institution, government or quasi government institution or from any local body.

6) To take over the ownership, possession or administration of any kind of land or building or any assets by adopting any mode of acquisition of ownership or possession as the law permits.

7) To establish, develop, maintain, and grant aid to homes for the aged, orphanages or other establishments for the relief and help to the poor, needy like orphans, widows and aged persons.

Program Activities could be broadly classified into Counselling and Suicide Prevention, Student Support Programs and Family Support Programs
